We have this very special Rolex Submariner 1680 sold in 1978 complete with its black matt dial with warm buttery patina lume plots and hands in super sharp condition probably only ever polished once when it was serviced at Rolex in 2007 (with an additional independent service receipt). The watch is running perfectly and is keeping good time, comes with its original Rolex papers, inner box, leatherette and tag.

It was the first Submariner to feature a date complication and a magnifying Cyclops lens, marking the brand’s strategic shift from a utilitarian dive tool into a luxury lifestyle symbol

There are some slight marks to the case, bracelet and clasp but overall is in super sharp original clean condition with super sharp chamfered edges meaning it has not been polished very much over the years if perhaps once. The movement has been cared for and is in good original condition which winds and sets smoothly, keeping excellent time. Also contains the correct 93150 Oyster bracelet and 580 end links. Only the bezel insert has been changed during its 2007 Rolex service (original insert can be sourced at an additional cost if desired), otherwise all original.
